Body of missing diver found in cavern in Citrus CountySunday, March 28th Citrus County sheriff's divers found the body of a missing scuba diver Sunday after searching the waters in Crystal River throughout the day. The victim was 27-year-old Khreste Encanto of Virginia Beach. Sheriff's divers found his body in a 2 feet by 3 feet area in King's Bay after he failed to resurface from a dive. Encanto was enlisted in the Navy in Virginia Beach and had minimal diving experience. He was diving with a group of certified divers from Lindhaven Dive Center in Norfolk, Va. The divers come to the Bay area almost every year. There were four diving instructors with the group, however, the sheriff's office says Encanto broke off from the group and got trapped in a cavern in King's Bay. The area where the body was found was a tough spot for rescue divers to reach. "The area that they're describing is pretty treacherous," said Citrus County Sheriff's spokesperson Rhonda Hemminger Evan." Evan says Encanto was apparently panicking, because he had removed some of his diving gear. "He went into this area and got disoriented," said Evan. "It looks like he got in there and he could not figure out how to get out." Deputies say King's Bay is a popular place for divers, especially if they want to catch a glimpse of a manatee.
